What is a poke bowl?

Although poke bowl is a dish that originated in Hawaii, it is usually identified with Asian cuisine. The dish is ideal for both a quick lunch during work and an exquisite dinner with friends.

"Bowl" means "bowl", "poke" means "cut into pieces" - the name therefore refers to the way the dish is prepared. In a small bowl, sliced fish is served accompanied by rice. The poke bowl is said to be a deconstructed sushi.

The characteristic difference, however, is that hot rice is added to the poke bowl. This is the secret of this dish - selected pieces of raw fish, served with hot - properly seasoned rice - are supposed to delight the most demanding palate.
